Error while starting Project Editor: "Could not initialize Tag Interface System. Your installation may be corrupted."

Goals and Symptoms

Attempting to load the Project Explorer results in the following errors being displayed:

After clicking on OK:

Error

Citect could not start Project Editor. Your installation may be corrupted, or your CITECT.INI file incorrect.

Check these and try again.
<OK>

Causes and Fixes


This can be caused by either a corrupted ...\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\PowerLogic Scada 7.10\Config\citect.ini file or an incorrect path specifying the location of the user data for a project.


You can delete the citect.ini file or manually correct the paths to point to the correct folder locations.

If you delete the file and try to start the Project Editor the following window will appear.

If you have renamed or moved this file, you must use the -I command line argument when starting the configuration and / or runtime

Selecting Create a default ini file. will create a new citect.ini file that can be configured using the Computer Setup interface.
