P765CA0A is backward compatible and will work on legacy ION7500/7600 meters, however, the new card is a bit different from the old ION7500/7600 communication card. The new card has a place for a battery. The battery is not needed in the new card when it is installed in an ION7500/7600 meter. The
battery is for the ION7550/7650 meters only.
