NBU (network braking unit) is able to evacuate energy if some equipment on grid is able to consume this energy, else line voltage increase and drive and NBU have no way to brake. So, if you use NBU on generator, then voltage will increase (maybe up to damage the generator) and drive will be no longer able to brake.
