L5K file is the variables file generated by Rockwell PLC software with all the symbols including user defined data types and program variables/tags.

In GP-ProEx, this L5K variable file can be imported and the symbols from Rockwell PLC can be linked to the GP-ProEx HMI screen.

Program variables are local variables that are defined only in their PLC program.

Follow the steps below to import program variables using L5K file. Click on import new:

Select the L5K file and uncheck the 'controller scope only box' from the window:

Program variables are imported in the GP-ProEx program and can be seen in the Tag List:

Click OK and the imported variables can be used in the GP-ProEx project.
