Yes, there are a few hardware revisions of the Express card.
All Xpress versions work with all 7700 versions, but it is recommended that only v13 Xpress be used with v13 7700 and v20 Xpress with v20 7700. If communications are working with the current Xpress/7700 combination you should be able to upgrade both sides in either order, but it is recommended that the Xpress side is upgraded first so that all ION modules are restored correctly.

NOTE: Some earlier versions of 7700/Xpress do not support firmware upgrading the Xpress through COM1. To avoid any potential issues, simply use COM2 (on the Xpress card).
