To check if the RS232/RS484 works properly, it needs to connect the converter on PC RS232 connector and wrap the RS 485 emission to reception like:

Now just use the hyperterminal windows on RS232 port.
All characters entered the keyboard should appear in the hyperterminal window.
If none appears, the converter will not work.
