Where can I read the temperature of an ATV61 or ATV71 series drive?

Article available in these languages: Spanish

Issue:
Temperature of an ATV61 or ATV71 series drive

Product Line:
ATV61 and ATV71series drives

Environment:
All models, all serial numbers

Cause:
Information is not available in current literature.

Resolution:
The "Drive thermal state" can be read though the monitoring menu on the keypad.  This will not tell you the actual temperature of the drive, but it will tell you the percentage of temperature based on normal operating temperature of the drive.

Also, you can read this temperature via the serial communication network at logic address 14114, 16#3722.  This is an unsigned integer between 1 and 118.  If the drive thermal state reaches 118%, the drive will shut down with a detected fault of "DRIVE OVERHEAT"
