M580 RSTP Bridge Priority values
Issue
What values does the M580 use for RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) Bridge Priority?

Product Line
M580

Environment
PLC Configuration software: Unity Pro, EcoStruxure Control Expert

Resolution
The M580 uses:
- Root (0)
- Backup Root (4096)
- Participant (32768)
to set the RSTP Bridge Priority value.

It is used in determining the RSTP Bridge ID value. The RSTP bridge ID is the concatenation of the RSTP Bridge Priority and the MAC address.
The RSTP Bridge ID value is used to determine the RSTP Root bridge (Ring manager) of the spanning tree and is the bridge with the smallest (lowest) RSTP bridge ID.
