Issue:
Is it possible to use a Dynamic Braking Resistor with an ATV630 Process Drive?
Product Line:
Altivar 630, 660, 680
Environment:
All
Cause:
Application requires the use of a braking resistor
Resolution:
A dynamic braking resistor cannot be used with an ATV6xx Process Drive. There is no access to the DC bus terminals (PA+ and PC-), and there is no PB terminal.
At this point in time this is the only drive line that cannot be connected to a braking resistor. On most other drives you would normally wire a braking resistor to the PA and PB terminals.
If a braking resistor is needed, consider using an ATV9xx Process Drive instead.
