Line Differential Protection and Bay Control Device
Features
The Easergy MiCOM P532 is an inexpensive line differential protection device that features optional control functions for rapid and selective short-circuit and overload protection of cables and power lines. It provides a rapid three-stage differential protection system using a tripping characteristic with multiple knee points amongst the numerous supplementary functions. The optional control functions enable MiCOM P532 to control up to six switchgear units fitted to a bay panel, and to monitor their contact positions.
MiCOM P530C is a compact line differential protection device which can directly replace the PQ741. It is provided with more new features and functions than its predecessor but is still pin-compatible with the PQ741. A multitude of additional protection functions for short-circuit and overload protection are implemented so that the relay doubles as feeder protection. Directional overcurrent functions, ground fault detection and voltage supervision are available when using the optional three-phase voltage measurement.
Both IEDs supports numerous communications protocols, which allow the devices to be wired into various substation control systems and telecontrol systems. The freely configurable PCOMM protection interface permits differential protection communication to also be used for transmission of up to three binary information telegrams between devices.
Easergy MiCOM P532 is supplied in 40TE or 84TE standard 4U case sizes, depending on configuration, whereas MiCOM P530C is supplied in a compact case solution.
Easergy MiCOM P532 is fully equipped with the latest communications protocols (IEC 61850 Ed1 and Ed2 available in the same device, selection by setting). Maximum availability and reliability of Ethernet communications is possible thanks to the implementation of PRP/HSR standard redundancy protocols with an instantaneous recovery time (0 ms) in case of network failure. To an extent the compatibility Easergy MiCOM P532 offers the RSTP redundancy protocol as well. All redundancy protocols are available in the same device and can be selected by setting. Implemented VLAN and port assignment functionality allows the use of advanced network architectures by splitting, the physical network into a logical SCADA system network and maintenance network.
Major enhancement to cybersecurity
Easergy MiCOM P532 has operational and cybersecurity features, compliant with IEC 62351, that help protect installations with security based on embedded features such as role based access control (RBAC), port hardening, security logs and access traceability. The IED, by default, includes RBAC with different users defined and a security administrator

- Non-directional supplementary functions (without voltage transformers)
- Directional supplementary functions and ground fault monitoring (with voltage transformers)
