In 1924, France's Telemechanique pioneered the world's first device capable of remotely opening and closing electrical circuits with an electromagnetic mechanism. This innovative device was aptly named the Contacteur. Over the next century, this initial invention evolved into a comprehensive family of “control and protection” devices, each iteration building on the last.

Schneider Electric, honouring this legacy, adopted the initials “Te” from Telemechanique and “Sys” from System to create the TeSys series. This series not only continues the tradition of innovation but also pushes the boundaries by integrating connectedness and intelligence into its products.
