How does the READ_VAR, WRITE_VAR differentiates between Ethernet port 1 and 2 on the M251 Controller?

Issue:

How does the READ_VAR, WRITE_VAR differentiates between Ethernet port 1 and 2 on the M251 Controller?

Product Line:

M251, Machine Expert

Resolution:

The TM251MESE has dual Ethernet port Ethernet port 1 and Ethernet port 2..  The Addr input parameter on the ADDM function block specifies the port and the IP address.  3 is use for Ethernet communication (Ethernet port 1 or 2). The software checks the IP address that you use in the FB and send the information via the Ethernet port that is on the same subnet  (auto routing depending of the IP address).
