Issue:
Customer wants to add a braking resistor to the ATV600 series drive.
Product line:
Altivar Process, ATV630, ATV660, ATV650, ATV680
Resolution:
The ATV600 series Process drive does not have the DC bus connections, PA and PB, to add a brake unit/resistor. The target application for this product line is pumps and fans, which normally do not need the brake function.
If the application has high inertia, try increasing DEC time or change to freewheel stop mode.
If a low DEC is required and dynamic braking is needed to prevent OBF or SOF faulting, then consider using the ATV900 series VFDs.
