How to resolve "Cannot launch ModbusDrv.exe" error message when trying to connect via USB cable to an M221?

Issue

When trying to connect to an M221 using Machine Expert Basic using a USB cable I get a "Cannot launch ModbusDrv.exe" error message and I'm not able to connect.

Cause

There is an issue with the M221 driver

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the driver needs to be reinstalled. Steps to reinstall it:

1/ Go to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Schneider Electric Shared\M221"

By default the driver is installed on this location after EME Basic is installed.

2/ Right-click on the M211_Controller.inf file and select Install.

3/Try connecting to the M221 again.
