Issue:

My Smart UPS Modular Ultra has UI I2C communication alarm detected 1421 on the display and/or NMC Web Interface

Resolution:

If you see this alarm, please clear the alarm and perform a power cycle to the UPS.  You can follow this FAQ for a proper power cycle: https://www.se.com/us/en/faqs/FAQ000274118/.

Once you clear the alarm, please upgrade the UPS Firmware to 18.0 or greater.  If you are unable to clear the alarm with a power cycle, please proceed with the firmware upgrade, then clear the alarm.
