Log Inserter won't open in Designer if a Log Acquisition Module (LAM) has too many inputs
In Designer, you will see a 'communications error' dialog. In the system log you will see this error:

There is a certain limitation on the number of inputs can be connected to a Log Acquisition Module. Try to reduce the number of inputs to below 1500 per Log Acquisition Module. Add a second Log Acquisition Module if further inputs are required.
