Why is the "Edit Query" tab grayed out in the Data Log Viewer Configuration Window?

User is unable to edit the Datalog Viewer Query using the query wizard

Cause
The parent window is not assigned to the active Query Server.

Resolution


At the lowest level the tab is grayed out due to the Data Log Viewer not being linked to the Query Server.



If the "Inherit from parent windows" is selected, there may be an issue where the parent diagram itself is not linked to the Query Server. The individual Data Log can be fixed by following these steps:

1. Select "Custom Query Server" in the Query Server Tab.
2. Manually link the Data Log Viewer to the Query Module by double clicking:
   1. The preferred QUERYSERVER
   2. Query Modules under "Managers"
   3. Query 1 under "Modules"
   4. QM1 Query Register under "Output Registers"
3. Press OK.
4. This will allow you to select the "Edit Query" button.

The problem can also be fixed at the meter level diagram or at the parent window level diagram.

• The meter can be fixed by right clicking on the meter, going to the Query Server tab, and following the steps above.
• The parent window can be fixed by right clicking in a blank space, click on Properties, going to the Query Server tab, and following the steps above.
