  This article applies to ION EEM 2.5 and ION EEM 3.5 only. Later version of ION EEM use a different mechanism for the procedures described herein. This document describes archiving, trimming and basic restore utilities that have been added to the ION EEM system to help manage data:

  · Data Log Archive Utility
  · Data Log Trim Utility
  · Data Log Restore Utility
  The ION EEM Data Maintenance Utilities allow for the archiving, trimming, and restoration of data records in the Data Log. The system is comprised of multiple stored procedures and three DTS packages. The DTS packages allow for concurrent execution and file system manipulation. The stored procedures are stand-alone and can be run independent of the DTS packages if desired. There is a stored procedure for each activity (archive, trim, restore). These objects can run either ad-hoc or scheduled.
