Resolution
*Warning: This article contains information about editing the registry. Improper changes to the registry can permanently damage the operating system. Always backup the registry before making any changes.*

Follow the steps below in order to change ION Setup's default configuration directory. There is also a step-by-step video embedded in this article which provides guidance on how to change ION Setup's default configuration directory.

First the user needs to know where the config directory is located by Navigating to Tools -> Options -> Directories ( Read-only) from ION Setup 3.0 as shown below :

The user needs to copy the entire ION setup config directory from the default directory to the new location. The User running ION Setup must have read/Write access permissions to the new directory

To change The Config Directory:
1- Open Regedit
2- navigate to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\3.0 as shown below:

3- Double click on UserDir and change the directory to the new desired location.
4- Press OK and make sure the UserDir Row entry reflects the new directory location.
5- Open ION Setup and verify that the Config directory has been changed.
