The Power Monitoring Expert 8.2 installer uses SQL Server Express 2014. If the target server already has a SQL Server Express 2016 instance installed, the PME installer will still provide the option 'Install SQL Server Express on this computer', however it will attempt to install SQL Server Express 2014.
Microsft SQL Server 2016 does not support any previous versions of SQL Server side by side on the same syste, which causes the attempt to install SQL Server Express 2014 to fail with an error dialog that says:
'Database server has no response'.
Our recommendation is to use the SQL Server Express 2016 instance that is already installed, or manually install a new ION instance of SQL Server Express 2016.
