When I run Report Generator (RepGen) from either an Engineering or Reporting Client, choosing 'Manage' causes a run-time error

Issue:

When running Report Generator (RepGen) from an Engineering Client or Reporting Client, selecting Manage Reports and choosing any report triggers the error:
Run-time error 91: Object variable or With block variable not set

Product Line:

Power Monitoring Expert

RepGen (Reporter) was retired starting with PME 9.0

Environment:

Web Applications
Engineering Client

Cause:

This issue occurs when RepGen is run from an Engineering Client or Reporting Client and the installed Excel version is Excel 2013 (32-bit/x86) newly installed. In this scenario, RepGen’s Manage workflow can fail with Run-time error 91.

Resolution:

Use one of the following workarounds:

  1. Install and use Excel 2013 (64-bit) instead of Excel 2013 (32-bit) on the client.
  2. Use Excel 2007 (32-bit) or Excel 2016 (32-bit) on the client.
  3. Run RepGen on the PME server (any Excel version), instead of running it from an Engineering/Reporting Client.

Recommendation:

If you are using an older version of PME, consider upgrading to the latest version for improved protocol support and security. For assistance with integration or upgrades, contact Schneider Electric Technical Support at: pmo-psup@se.com
