PlantStruxure PES [V4.3]: Issue instaling Intersystem caché database at PES instalation
Goals and Symptoms
PES V4.3 instalation failed. Log are referring to Caché issue and Caché is not installed on the machine
Facts and Changes
To install PES, some Microsoft Visual C++ 20xx redistributable are needed specialy to be able to operate Caché.
Instaling PES V4.3 on a machine that allready has some Microsoft Visual C++ 20xx redistributable with a version higher than the ones installed by cahé will fail.
Causes and Fixes
You need to first uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 20xx redistributable with versions higher than the following list;
C++ 2008 Redistributable - x64 9.0.30729.6161
C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.6161
C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219
C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.40219
C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) - 11.0.61030
C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) - 11.0.50727
C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) - 12.0.21005
C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) - 12.0.21005
C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) - 14.0.23026
Then secondly if PES already failed to install, you have also to uninstall C++ redistribuable that are listed in the windows / configuration panel / program & fuctionalties but with an empty size.
Reboot the PC.
Then reinstall PES.
If the issue is not fixed by following above steps.
Go to the Setup folder of PES, PES 4.3\ISSetupPrerequisites
Click on the various installers, and for one more you might find the option “Uninstall” ; Uninstall the particular Redistributable and then start the installation from start.
note : This may affect functionalty of other software that need C++ 20xx redistrutable that are uninstalled in this procedure.
