PME Web Alarms show "Unable to update the result. The server either timed out or returned invalid result."

Issue
PME Web Applications Alarms tab does not show Alarms and a red error message appears stating: 'Unable to update the result. The server either timed out or returned invalid result. If this problem persists please contact the system administrator.'

Unable to update results
In the PME ApplicationModules log, the following errors are shown:

  • Failed to load the resx file 'EnumAndEvent' for the culture 'en', --- >
    System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\etc\EnumAndEvent.en.resx'.
  • Failed to load the resx file 'IONNames' for the culture 'en', --- >
    System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\etc\IONNames.en.resx'.

Cause
The language associated with EnumAndEvent.en.resx and IonNames.en.resx are not reading correctly.

Resolution

1. On the PME server, navigate to …\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\etc

2. Make a copy of the EnumAndEvent.en.resx and IONNames.en.resx files

Copy files

3. Rename the copies to EnumAndEvent.en-US.resx and IONNames.en-US.resx

Rename files

4. Open the Windows Start menu and search for "Command Prompt"

5. Right-click on Command Prompt > Run as Administrator

6. Type the following command then press Enter to run:

  • iisreset
