How to share variables between a EME HVAC PLC and a Operator Terminal Expert (EOTE) HMI?

Issue:

Not able to add the variables from the EME HVAC PLC to EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert.

Resolution:

[Part 1 - EME HVAC: Exporting the Variables to a CSV File]

NOTE: The variables that can be shared from the HVAC PLC to the HMI, must be defined on the EEPROM Parameters or Status Variables. The Global variables and IO mapping are meant to be used as local variables within the PLC and not exported.

1) From Machine Expert HVAC, go to the Configuration tab -> <PLC name Configuration> -> Data export -> Export

2) On the Export Window selec "Modbus Objects for EOTE"

3) Give the CSV file a name

4) Provide a Source name and a variable Prefix. Select the variables and parameters you wish to export.

5) Select Export to export the variables. From the pop-up: Keep in mind the name to be used for the equipment name on EOTE.

[Part 2 – Creating the Driver in EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert]

1) In EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert, select the Driver Node in Project Explorer -> System Architecture and click the [+Driver] button at the top.

2) Choose the Driver:

Manufacturer: Schneider Electric

Driver: Modbus TCP Master

3) Click on the Equipment row named "SchneiderModbusTCPIPEquipment1" and change it to the name provided on the pop up of step (5) Part 1.

4) In the Properties, enter the IP Address of the PLC.

Tick the "Use HVAC Controller" setting.

When using a string variable, select ["BADC" from top address] from [String Mode] in the driver's properties. The character code that can be used is ASCII only.

[Part 3 – Importing the Variables]

1) Click on the "All Variables" node under Variables.

8) Click the Import button and select the CSV file created on Part 1. Click OK.

As a result, the Variables from EME HVAC will appear in EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert which you will be able to assign in your Screen Objects (Data Displays and buttons). And now you can download the application to the HMI to run with your PLC.
