How to Change the Default Password on a SAGE RTU
Issue:
Need to change the default password on a SAGE RTU device.
Product:
SAGE RTU (All models)
Environment:
SAGE RTU running a secure firmware version
Cause:
Default password is still active, requiring update for security compliance or user preference.
Resolution:
Step 1:
Download the appropriate firmware package from the Schneider Electric website (Software section) based on the firmware version installed on your SAGE RTU. Locate and run the User Manager Utility within the firmware package. In this case as example, we are using version K5_P9.
Step 2:
If the RTU is still using the default user configuration, load the default template in the User Manager Utility (found in the firmware package).
Step 3:
Click on the password field and enter the new password. Ensure you check the boxes for the permissions you want to grant to the user account.
Step 4:
Generate the new USER configuration file by clicking the GENERATE button.
Step 5:
Upload the generated file to the RTU using the GUI Up/Download tab, then send it. After the process completes, reset the RTU.
The new password will be required after the unit restarts.
