Solution
In Data Recorder Module, each record may have 1-16 different channels(inputs) depending on how many channels are linked to the module. Number of records(Log Depth) is the maximum number of entries in the output log of Data Recorder Module.
Note: Starting with firmware V4.6, each Data Recorder module supports up to 50 linked sources (channels).
In ION9000, ION7400 and PM8000 meters, each Data Recorder is limited to 10 MB (10,485,760 bytes), and the approximate calculation for the size (in bytes) of each record in a Data Recorder is:
[number of parameters(input) *5] + 28 where 28 is some headers and additional bytes.
For example:
A Data Recorder with 16 linked inputs will have each record sized as: [16 × 5] + 28 = 108 bytes. Therefore, 10 MB (10,485,760 bytes) ÷ 108 bytes ≈ 97,089 records (Log Depth).
A Data Recorder with 4 linked inputs will have each record sized as: [4 × 5] + 28 = 48 bytes. Therefore, 10 MB (10,485,760 bytes) ÷ 48 bytes ≈ 218,453 records (Log Depth).
