AC Inputs on a SAGE RTU 2400
Title:
AC Input Terminations for SAGE RTU 2400
Issue:
Proper method for connecting AC analog inputs to the SAGE RTU 2400 using the C3244 AC Input module.
Product:
SAGE RTU 2400
Environment:
Installations requiring AC analog input measurements for voltage and current using CT/PT or Line Post Sensors.
Cause:
Incorrect wiring or shielding practices during AC input termination can lead to inaccurate measurements or signal interference.
Resolution:
The C3244 AC Input module provides six AC analog inputs: three current inputs and three voltage inputs. Use shielded twisted pair cables for all AC input connections and connect the drain wire at the proper end as shown in the wiring diagrams below. Two common connection methods:
- Line Post Sensors (LPS): Connect each phase and current sensor with shields properly grounded.
- CT/PT Connections: For 3-element, 2.5-element, 2-element, or single voltage metering, follow the diagrams for correct phase and shield terminations.
Ensure jumpers at TB2 input are installed for single-voltage measurements. Voltages entered in AC Analog Setup depend on metering type:
- 3-element & 2.5-element: line-to-neutral
- 2-element: line-to-line
