What is the difference between Harmony XB4 and XB5 range ?
1. What you need to know
Both are Ø22 mm Harmony control and signaling units with the same functions, the same mounting cut-out and the same contact blocks. The difference is the head bezel material: XB4 uses chromium-plated metal, XB5 uses plastic. In the reference structure, "4" means metal and "5" means plastic, while "XB" means a complete unit and "ZB" a component. Heads and fixing collars are not interchangeable between the two ranges.
2. How the two ranges are related
XB4 and XB5 are two material variants of the same modular platform. An operator is built from and only the head and fixing collar are range specific.
- Reference logic: XB4 = complete metal unit, ZB4 = metal component; XB5 = complete plastic unit, ZB5 = plastic component.
- Contact blocks, light modules and most accessories are common to both ranges.
- Metal heads mount on metal collars only (ZB4BZ009); plastic heads on plastic collars only (ZB5AZ009).
- Depending on head type , both ranges can reach up to IP66, IP67, IP69 and IP69K.
- Both XB4 and XB5 are rated for harsh environments.

Note : heads and collars cannot be mixed between the two ranges: a ZB4 head does not mount on a ZB5AZ009 collar, and vice versa.
