Schneider Electric Named Champion in Canalys EMEA Channel Leadership Matrix for the Fourth Consecutive Year

15/12/2022

  • Schneider Electric named a Vendor Champion in Canalys’ annual report for channel management leadership in EMEA, among nine other vendors
  • ‘Champion’ status acknowledges vendors who achieve the highest levels of excellence in channel management, and year-on-year improvements
  • Leadership status awarded for continued improvements to its partner programs, growth to its partner base, and leadership in sustainability practices

Schneider Electric™, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced it has been named a ‘Champion’ in Canalys Channel Leadership Matrix for the fourth consecutive year. Canalys, the world-leading IT Channel research organization, named Schneider Electric an EMEA Channel Leadership Champion for its continued improvements to its partner programs, growth of 20% to its existing partner base, and its leadership in sustainability practices.

According to Canalys, ‘Champions’ have demonstrated the highest levels of channel management excellence over the year, compared with their industry peers, while also achieving the difficult task of improving performance year-on-year.  Vendors were rated by both channel partners in the Canalys Candefero Vendor Benchmark and Canalys analysts. Schneider Electric was named ‘Champion’ among nine other Vendors, including its Alliance Partners, Dell Technologies, HPE, and NetApp.

In June 2022, Schneider Electric launched phase one of its new mySchneider IT Partner Program, supporting IT channel partners with a simplified program structure and diverse specializations for data centres, IT solutions, software, and services. The program provides partners with a new range of sales tools, training, and enablement resources, offering new benefits aligned with each of its specialization paths.

Furthermore, Schneider Electric’s leading brand of physical infrastructure and uninterruptible power protection solutions, APC, is well positioned to help partners and customers meet and exceed sustainability goals. The new program offers a clear sustainability strategy for partners, providing key guidance on how to reduce energy usage, carbon emissions, and waste, alongside a new set of sustainability services.

The launch of a new partner program saw greater alignment to partners’ emerging business models, focusing on partners’ service and software growth, and increasing new partners’ access to top design tools. These efforts combined have helped Schneider Electric sign up over 20% new partners to its program, despite ongoing consolidation in the channel.

"Schneider Electric’s Champion status is a reflection of its commitment to its channel partners and continued improvements in its programs, tools and engagement models," said Alastair Edwards, Chief Analyst at Canalys. "The channel values the strength Schneider's account management but also its technical support, as it actively seeks to support partner service and software growth for partners."

Another key differentiator for Schneider Electric is in sustainability. “Vendors are falling over themselves to push sustainability messages, but Schneider Electric is well positioned to help its partners drive customers' sustainability efforts," continued Edwards. "That includes building a set of sustainability services that partners can take to end-customers, as well as providing the steps for them to become more sustainable themselves."

“We’re delighted to have been named a Vendor Champion for the fourth year in-a-row, and I would like to express our gratitude to both the partners and analysts who have supported us,” said David Terry, Vice President, IT Channels, Schneider Electric, Europe. “As we look towards 2023, sustainability will be vital for our partners’ business models, and Schneider Electric is committed to supporting them with the tools, audits and assessments, training and solutions that will enable them to build a sustainable partner ecosystem and help their customers meet net zero.”

The Candefero Vendor Benchmark is an online tool that assesses channel partners’ views of technology vendors by asking them to rate the vendors they sell across twelve areas of channel management on a score of 1 to 10. These areas are collectively grouped into three topics: programs and enablement, sales engagement, and partner experience.

Scores are collected on an ongoing basis from channel partners via the Canalys Candefero community, providing a continuous and real-time view of a vendor’s ability to support its channel across the Americas, APAC and EMEA. Candefero is a channel-only community operated by Canalys and has over 18,000 channel partner members worldwide.
