It helps you visualise and understand how you’re managing energy and processes to optimise each and see where you can save and accurately report and benchmark progress.
For new “green build” facilities, electrical design and simulation, building information modelling can be included early in the design and build phases to meet sustainability goals.
For existing buildings that need sustainable retrofits, you may need to modernise building systems with the latest digital technology. The first major action should be to assess the level of digitisation and capabilities of the building management system (BMS) and assets. After you have tackled energy efficiency and reduction goals, you can start to replace carbon-intensive, fossil-fuelled energy sources with newer, greener technologies, and incorporate microgrids for the storage and management of energy generated on-site, allowing for less reliance on the grid and greater power reliability.
