Our data privacy policy explains why and how we process and protect personal data and how you can exercise your choices and rights regarding data protection. This supplemental notice provides you with additional privacy information about Visual Remote Assistant (VRA).
1. What is the scope of this privacy notice?Visual Remote Assistant (VRA) is a remote technical assistance tool. It enables real-time communication between our agents and our customers via an audio and/or video stream, providing personalized assistance in real time.
2. Who is in charge of data processing?This information notice applies to personal data that Schneider Electric Industries SAS and its subsidiaries (“we” or “us”) process in its capacity as Data Controller (which means that we control how and why personal data is processed).
Where other parties process data for their own purposes, which we do not define or control, those third parties will provide you with a separate privacy policy. For example, if you link the VRA service to a third-party voice assistant, that provider's notice will explain their own data processing activities as data controller and tell you how to contact them.
3. What types of personal information do we process?We process the following categories of personal data:
- Contact information.
- Online information and technical data (information about the devices you use, such as their identifier, model and version).
- Information about your precise geographical location, if you provide consent.
- As with any system, logins are logged for security purposes.
We use personal data to provide our services, interact with users, manage customer relationships, ensure security and compliance with the contract and terms of use, and to analyze the use of the VRA service in order to improve it.
We may collect and use other types of personal data as described in our data privacy policy. We do not make decisions based on automated processing that may produce legal effects or otherwise similarly affect you.
4. How long do we keep your personal data?We retain the data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described above, taking into account the need to provide the services, marketing requirements, security requirements, legal requirements and retention periods.
5. With whom do we share personal data and where is it processed?Personal data will be processed by our affiliates and suppliers involved in the provision of services and for the fulfillment of the purposes described in section 3. We take steps to ensure that personal data receives an adequate level of protection.
We will not sell or share your personal data for financial consideration to any third party without your consent.
Our affiliates and suppliers offer services that include hosting and maintenance, performance, and security monitoring. As we are a global company, teams and suppliers may have a global or multi-country role, and they may be located anywhere in the world, in countries where data protection rules are different from those in force in our customers' countries.
We have internal policies applied by our affiliates, and we enter into contracts with our suppliers to provide appropriate guarantees. Our group has adopted Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) for transfers of personal data from one controller to another controller within the group. We conclude standard contractual clauses and rely on European Commission adequacy decisions. We may also share your data, if necessary:
- With relevant legal authorities, based on a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to respond to legal process, a valid official investigation, or as required by law.- To defend ourselves in court or to protect the rights or safety of any person or entity.

- With third parties in connection with the acquisition or sale of a business.
- By other means described in this or to which the data subjects have otherwise given their consent.
If you authorize third parties to collect information from connected devices, access information processed as part of the VRA service or issue commands to connected devices (for example, using a third-party voice assistant), we will also share data with these third parties in order to fulfill your requests. We do not control these third parties or their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before engaging with them.
Google Maps
The Service includes features and content from Google Maps. Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the current versions of (1) the Google Maps/Google Earth Supplemental Terms of Use at https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps.html and (2) the Google Privacy Policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/ . In addition, Google publishes information on its use of data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=en
Google Maps features are used:To facilitate configuration: when you share an address, this is used to determine the time zone and country, which is necessary for the service.
6. How do we secure personal data?We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect personal data and we maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect it against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, and unauthorized alteration. Please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. How to exercise your choices and rights regarding your personal data?To exercise the data protection rights granted under applicable data protection law, such as the rights to be informed, to access, to rectify, to withdraw consent, to delete, to object and to request data portability, you may make a request at the contact details available within the service or at Global-Data-Privacy@schneider-electric.com
