Cause:
Single phase Buck and Boost Transformers are usually connected as Autotransformers, and are able to supply two wire loads only. They will not supply a neutral required for a 120/240V service

No. Buck & Boost transformers cannot be used to supply single phase, 3-wire loads. Use a 208 - 120/240 isolation transformer for these applications.Released for: Schneider Electric USA
