What does the J suffix indicate on an FA/FH, KA/KH, LA/LH, or MA/MH circuit breaker?
Issue:
What does the J suffix indicate on a Legacy FAL, KAL, LAL, MAL or PAL circuit breaker?

Product line:
Circuit breakers

Resolution:
The J stands for Japan.  A breaker with this suffix ships with the contacts closed (handle in the on position) to prevent oxidation due to salt air during shipment overseas to Japan.  This feature is not available for domestic shipments.
For PowerPacT breakers, this suffix is replaced by suffix YK.
