Resolution:
There is no direct replacement switch for a 400amp, 2pole fusible switch, the QMB2240 Series 1-4 switch.
However, Square D/SE does offer a 400 amp, 3 pole, circuit breaker replacement, catalog number QMB3400LA that can be used in all QMB interior types manufactured between 1961 and October of 1984.
NOTES:
1) A plug on extension assembly catalog number QMB310EX will be required, for use in the Type QW(38inch Wide) interior(See the current Supplemental digest for more information).
2) There are also filler plates that may be required, a QW1BL 1.5" and a QW3BL 4.5". However these are both Obsolete, NLA with No replacement, the installer would need to check with a local sheet metal shop.
