Can the 5 gang socket Meter-Pak be converted to 6 gang?

No. The MP Meter-Pak meter center catalog numbers are configured as 2 to 6 gang ONLY, Meter Socket/Tenant Breaker devices per complete enclosure and additional meter sockets cannot be added.
Some MP Meter-Pak units are supplied with one position blanked out that gives the appearance of a potential future meter socket position. But Square D is not able to offer parts to convert the blanked out meter socket position into an active meter socket position in the field.
For Example: If a 6th meter socket might be needed at some later date, do not order a 5-Gang device(with the 6th blanked out) thinking that the blanked out position can be added at some later date. Order the 6-Gang unit up front and the part number 29007 Closing Plate to seal off the extra position until it is needed in the future.
