Resolution:
Typically the presence of the 5th Jaw in most meter sockets, does not interfere with the function of a single phase watt hour meter.  At the request of the Local Utility, the 5th Jaw can be removed to provide a 4 Jaw Meter Socket where needed.
NOTE: In the situation where the 5th jaw is removed, the white insulated 5th Jaw control wire must also be removed from the device.
