This FAQ applies to All ATV600 and ATV900 series drives as well as the ATV340 Machine drive.
There are 2 primary methods for swtiching between reference signals in these drives:
Ref 1B switching and Ref 2 switching.
The video below describes using Ref 1B switching. but the setup for Ref 2 switching is similar:
[Complete settings] -> [Command and Reference]
- Press the Home button and go to the main menu.
- Using the thumb wheel, scroll down to to menu 5 the Complete Settings menu and press OK
- Scroll down to submenu Command and Reference and press OK
- Set your first reference by setting Ref Freq 1 Config to AI1, AI2, AI3, HMI or modbus, choose and press OK.
- Scroll down to Ref 1B Switching and choose the digital input, such as DI3, that will switch between the reference channels.
- Scroll down to Ref 1B Config. Set to AI1, AI2, AI3, HMI or Modbus, choose and press OK.
Example: When digital input DI3 is high, the drive will look at Ref 1B channel input and when digital input DI3 is low, the drive will look at Ref 1 channel.
Ref 1 channel is AI1
Ref 1B Switching is DI3
Ref 1B channel is AI2
When digital input DI3 is high (activated), AI2 is the speed reference input.
When digital input DI3 is low (deactivated), AI1 is the speed reference input.
NOTE:
When using Ref 2 switching, several functions related to frequency reference are bypassed such as preset speeds, reference operations and PID control.
This diagram from the Programming manual of the ATV600 Programming manual:
This difference in functionality may force the user to select Ref 1B or Ref 2 depending on how the system needs to behave.
