Resolution:

Xanbus is a network communications system developed by the manufacturer which allows the solar charge controller to communicate settings and activity to other Xanbus-enabled devices. Each Xanbus-enabled device is connected by a standard Ethernet (CAT 5/CAT 5e) patch cable.

See attached image.  The connections are inside the unit which would require opening the unit cover with the unit de energized.
