Video: How to replace the front display on a Surgeloc SPD.
Issue:
Removing and replacing the front display of the SurgeLogic Surgeloc SPD (surge protective device).

Product Line:
Surgeloc Surge Protective Devices (SPDs)

Environment:
NQ internally mounted assembly

Cause:
Front display is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced

Resolution:
  1. Turn off all power to the equipment before working on or inside any enclosure containing this equipment.
  2. Remove the panel door, dead front, and trim.
  3. Verify that the replacement diagnostic assembly has the correct catalog number. The catalog number is found on the back of the assembly. See Table 1.
  4. Press inward on the sides of the existing diagnostic enclosure to disengage snap locks. Gently rotate the display downward. The diagnostic cable will act as a hinge. Unplug the diagnostic patch cable from the diagnostic assembly.
  5. Plug the diagnostic patch cable into the new diagnostic assembly. Check that all connections are secure. Note: Be sure that all pins are aligned before applying force. Very little force should be needed to engage the connector pins.
  6. Hinge the diagnostic assembly into place and engage the snap locks by gently pressing inward on the SPD housing.
  7. Replace the deadfront panel. Replace the barrier, cover/door, and/or trim to the equipment.
