Issue:
Cisco Nexus 7009 requires a side airflow duct kit when installed in a NetShelter cabinet.
Product Line:
NetShelter SX
Environment:
All versions and serial ranges.
Cause:
The Cisco Nexus 7009 requires extra airflow to cool properly, and side to side airflow requires ducting in the cabinet.
Resolution:
Please see APC sku AR7725: http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AR7725
This side airflow duct kit is designed specifically to allow the Cisco Nexus 7009 to install into the NetShelter cabinet and draw the additional air required to cool properly.
The AR7725 draws air from the front and sides and guides it into the switches' air intakes. It also helps block hot air from recirculating to the front of the cabinet.
It's possible that the AR7725 could work with other 14U side ariflow equipment. If you want to check compatibility please contact Tech Support. A Tiger Team member may be required to investigate the specific equipment in question.
