The quickest way to determine which method to use for importing the eds file is view the '.eds' file with Notepad.
If the device is described as an EthernetIP hardware the 'Add EDS to Library' selection in the DTM Browser must
be used to import the eds file.
The 'DTM Catalog 'Update' button accessed from within Unity must be used. to update the hardware catalog.
If the device is not described, it is most likely a CANOpen type hardware. The 'Hardware Catalog Manager'
must be used to import he eds file.

- Right click on the DTM hostname.
- Click on 'Device menu'.
- Click on 'Additional functions.
- Click on 'Add EDS to library.
- Click on 'Next'.
- Click on 'Add files'.
- Click on 'Browse' and locate the edds file.
- Click on 'Next'.
