Issue:
Can not access private LAN device on DCE if protocol is disabled on server..
Product Line:
StruxureWare Data Center Expert (DCE)
Environment:
StruxureWare Data Center Expert any version with HTTP or HTTPS disabled. APC or 3rd party NMC on DCE's private LAN
Cause:
There is an option in DCE where you can enable or disable either HTTP or HTTPS access to the server. You can also change the ports for these protocols. This configuration is under the "System" menu, "Server Administration Settings", "Server Access", and the "Web Server" tab. When this access is disabled, that protocol and port are now blocked from being used. If you have a device on the DCE private LAN that is configured for this disabled protocol or port, you will not be able to launch to it.
As an example, if you disable HTTP access to DCE but have only HTTP access enabled for a device you are trying to launch to, the web page for that device will not be accessible.
Resolution:
In order to be able to launch to a device on the private LAN, you must enable the same protocol that is enabled on the server. If only HTTPS is enabled on the server, HTTPS on the device must be enabled for access as well. The port must also match.
