Why does the Com’X fail to connect to the DSP server?
Product Line
Com’X 200: Firmware V3.5.24
Com’X 210: Firmware V3.5.24 to 4.0.10
Com’X 510: Firmware V3.5.24 to 4.0.10

Environment
Com’X connection to DSP Publication Platform

Issue
Cannot commission a Com'X on DSP before setting the Com'X date and time. The Com'X fails to bootstrap due to incompatibility between the DSP Bootstrap Server security certificate validity period and the default Date and time of a new Com'X. Publications cannot be sent to EcoStruxure Facility Expert because of the bootstrap failure.

Cause
The validity period of the DSP Server security certificate is from 5/10/2017 to 4/30/2019 as of 4/2018. The internal date of a new Com’X defaults to 01/01/2017 when it is powered up. The Com’X rejects the certificate causing the bootstrap to fail as this date does not fall within the validity period of the DSP Server certificate.

Resolution
The customer must set the Com’X date to the current date before enabling Schneider-Services as instructed in the Com’X user manual and on-screen message. The on-screen message prompts users to update the Com’X date and time when a difference is detected between the current date and time of the browser and the Com’X internal date and time.

This issue is easily detected by reading the current date and time of the Com’X in the banner at the top of the web page. The DSP bootstrapping will fail if the date and time on the Com’X is earlier than 5/10/2017.
The Network report provides DSP server information to check validity of the SSL certificate.

To check validity of the DSP Server SSL certificate:

1. Click Settings > General Settings > Network Settings.
2. Click Launch diagnostic.

3. Scroll to the section labeled Testing DSP server.

The date set in the Com’X must be within the DSP Server security certificate validity period to ensure successful DSP bootstrapping.

Changes to the current date and time settings are blocked when the publication platform is set to DSP even if the user can enter and save a new date and time value. The publication platform must be temporarily changed to successfully change the Com'X date and time.

To change Com'X Date/Time:
1. Click Settings > Publication.
2. Select Energy Operation from the Destination platform drop-down list.

3. Enter User login and User password.

10. Select DSP from the Destination platform drop-down list.
