Why can I only use the XBTZ9780 cable (COM1 RS485) with the HMIG3U and not the HMIG5U for the Unitelway protocol?
Issue:
XBTZ9780 cannot be used with the HMIG5U
Product Line:
HMIG3U, HMIG5U, HMIG5U2, HMIG5U21, HMIG5U22
Resolution:
Uni-Telway communication has a stricter requirement about timing sequence that requires a specific hardware time that only the HMIG3U and other non-Windows based Magelis HMIs) possess. Due to the lack of such a hardware timer in the Windows based HMIs, such as the HMIG5U, the Uni-Telway protocol is only able to communicate over RS232 only for this model.
