Do M580 Safety I/O MUIDs need to be re-generated after a Hot Swap?

Issue

If an M580S V3.20 has a Safety program currently running, does it require that the MUIDs be generated if a single module is damaged and needs to be replaced on the fly?

Product Line

Modicon M580 Safety

Resolution

The MUIDs are generated offline strictly by what is mapped in the particular slot. It does not use anything specifically from the actual module hardware for generation.

You can Hot Swap IO modules without impacting the application at all.
