Nimmita Maharaj –Diversity and Transformation Director for Anglophone Africa
Nimmita was appointed as Schneider Electric’s Diversity and Transformation Director for Anglophone Africa in January 2022. She is business-focused, creative and results-driven, with more than 22 years’ experience as a Senior Human Resources professional.
Her experience lies in shaping, driving, and executing strategic organisational outcomes at a national, regional (Africa Middle East) and global level, having honed these skills across diverse industries such as Market Research, Executive Coaching, Consulting, Public Relations and Communications, Engineering and Energy Management.
Her expertise lie in Strategic Resource Planning, Employee Engagement, Organisational and Leadership Development, Change Management and Transformation. Having worked in multi-cultural roles at a global level, she has managed diverse teams throughout her career, culminating in her promotion to her current role.
Nimmita joined Schneider Electric in 2018 as a Learning and Transformation Manager, managing all learning and development, talent initiatives and change management. Prior to this, she was the Africa Talent and Learning Manager at Aurecon and an HR Executive at Rubric Consulting, and she also held various serious roles at TNS.
She holds an Honours Degree in Industrial and Organisation Psychology, has successfully completed her Coaching for Development) and Professional Coaching Certification with UCT Graduate School of Business and New Ventures West and is registered with the International Coaching Federation. In addition, she is accredited in various assessment tools such as Hogan, MBTI, DISC, and Insights, (experience in Enneagram) and utilises these tools to support her coachees in their development.
