Why did AR7701A-S replace AR7701 and AR7701-S?
Issue:
The AR7701 had been used to floor-mount NetShelter SX cabinets but was replaced by AR7701-S, then AR7701A-S.

Product Line:
NetShelter SX

Environment:
All versions and serial ranges.

Cause:
A change by IBC, then OSHPD required a new seismic bracket.

Resolution:
When IBC updated the seismic standard from seismic zones to Seismic "Areas" it identified areas of more stringent requirements. This prompted an update of our seismic bracket from AR7701 to AR7701-S.
AR7701 will remain as a released sku. It can be used to install cabinets in IBC Low and Medium Seismic Areas, and it's still used by other products as a seismic bolt-down bracket.

As of June 3, 2017 AR7701A-S replaced AR7701-S.
AR7701A-S is compliant with all IBC seismic areas and OSHPD.
APC by Schneider Electric NetShelter SX adds OSHPD certification to the list and seismic support for IBC High Seismic areas with the AR7701A-S High Seismic Bolt-Down Kit.
The kit now also addresses healthcare applications in California that need to follow guidelines set forth by OSHPD Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development.
APC by Schneider is now on the preapproved manufacturer's certification (OPM) list with the NetShelter SX IT cabinet platform.
