Is it possible to simulate drive protection through SoMove software?
SoMove is the user-friendly setup software for PCs designed to configure Schneider Electric's motor control devices such as Altivar drives.

It incorporates various functions for the device setup phases such as:
• Prepare the device configuration offline, to optimize time spent on the field
• Simplify device start-up, commissioning and test
• Perform application tuning using scope meter
• Access device detailed maintenance data

While connecting the SoMove to the drive “Online Mode”, customer can monitor all required parameters and actual operating signals such as “motor current, speed, voltage, Input & Output IOs” simultaneously.

Also, supervising the drive actual status “OFF, Ready, Run or Fault”

If the drive tripped due to some protection activation like “Overvoltage, Overcurrent, Overload…. etc.”, the customer can notice this action through the SoMove platform beside the drive graphic keypad.

Indeed, it is not possible to make the drive trip in a virtual protection activation through SoMove software as these protections count on the drive hardware sensing thresholds and not be adjusted via software.

As clarified, customer can simulate drive voltage protection activation using a variable DC power supply, but it is rarely used for this purpose, it is used for drive capacitor reforming which has been stored for long period.
