Load (PC to Sepam) and Upload (Sepam to PC) options are greyed out in SFT2841 when connected to a Sepam relay

Issue

Why are the Load and Unload (Upload) options greyed out in SFT2841 when attempting to transfer settings files to or from a Sepam relay?

Product

Sepam 20, Sepam 40, Sepam 80, SFT2841

Environment

  • Sepam relay configuration using SFT2841
  • Windows-based PC connected to Sepam relay

Cause

The Load and Upload options are disabled due to missing prerequisites:

  • For Sepam 20, the configuration password has not been entered.
  • For Sepam 40 and 80, there is no active connection to the relay.
Additionally, opening a settings file before establishing a connection (for Sepam 40/80) prevents the options from becoming available.

Resolution

Sepam 20 Series Relay:

  1. Open SFT2841.
  2. Click the key icon in the upper-left corner.
  3. Enter the password (default: 0000).
  4. Once authenticated, go to Sepam > Load or Sepam > Upload.

Sepam 40 and 80 Series Relays:

  1. Ensure SFT2841 is closed if a file is already open.
  2. Open SFT2841 and establish an active connection to the relay.
  3. Do not open the settings file beforehand.
  4. Once connected, navigate to Sepam > Load or Sepam > Upload.

Note:

  • Only Sepam 20 requires password authentication before enabling Load/Upload.
  • NSepam 40 and 80 require an active relay connection instead.
