PM800 series meters during initial current detection and metering operation.
Resolution
The PM800 series meets IEC 62053-8 standards, which dictate that the minimum pickup current is 5 mA.
There must be a minimum of 5 milliamps of current on the CT secondaries for the meter to begin metering current:
- For a 5 A secondary, this corresponds to 0.1% load.
- For a 1 A secondary, this corresponds to 0.5% load.
Once this minimum current is present, the meter will wake up and start measuring current accurately.
